senior events
The chalk walk will take place after finals, Monday, June 14th, and Tuesday, June 15th from 3:30 -7:30PM in the plaza (center of campus). To participate, seniors must have completed the "Senior Chalk Walk Survey" (located in the "links" section of our website) by Friday, June 4th, and bring $5 cash as well as a drawing/picture of their intended design to the event.
After paying and getting their design approved, seniors will receive gloves and 8 different colors of chalk. Seniors will then be allowed to pick any 4 ft x 4ft taped section of the plaza to begin.
If seniors already paid for the event through the Westview Webstore, they do NOT have to pay again. A separate list of students who have already paid will be at the event.
The Senior Picnic will take place Wednesday, June 16th from 5-7 pm in the Westview plaza. This event is free for all seniors due to the generous donations from our PTSA & Foundation. All seniors, whether attending or not, must complete the PICNIC SURVEY. The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, June 11th.
At this event, (if seniors are attending the traditional graduation ceremony) students will receive their graduation tickets (4) and an informative card for Graduation Rehearsal the following day (June 17th from 9-11 AM). Seniors will also have the opportunity to vote for Senior Court, sign yearbooks, sign the senior banner, and walk the chalked area of the plaza. The Senior Court will be announced at this event, and the selected senior singer and senior speaker will perform. Turkey and Veggie Wraps, catered by Broken Yolk, will be provided.
A senior class photo will also be taken. We are encouraging all seniors to wear their class of 2021 senior shirt and mask in the photo. If seniors have not yet purchased these items, they may do so on the Westview Webstore. Items purchased before Thursday, June 10th may be picked up at the Cap & Gown Distribution, Friday, June 11th.
Lastly, senior tiles, which will be picked up at Cap & Gown Distribution, will be collected at the event. Staff have also been invited to attend.
On Thursday, June 17th, 9-11 AM, seniors who opted to participate in our traditional ceremony are required to participate in this rehearsal in our stadium.
If you ordered your lawn sign on the Westview Webstore, and have not yet picked it up, you may do so at the front office during school hours. Please email shparker@powayusd.com to coordinate after hours pick up on either Monday or Wednesday from 3:30 -5 PM if you are unable to pick up during school hours.
